The Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s Information, Support and Programmes provides direct support to people with cystic fibrosis and those who care for them through a helpline, award-winning information resources, innovative youth work, and a range of specialist programmes.
Our helpline is the gateway to our support services, and many of the enquiries received into the helpline are about financial issues. To support people with cystic fibrosis with the extra costs the condition can bring, we provide a range of welfare grants, as well as benefits advice from a dedicated advisor.
The post-holder will support our Helpline Officers to identify those in financial need and, working with our Welfare and Rights Advisor, will ensure those who need support can access information and advice on welfare benefits, with a focus on income maximisation. They will also play a key role in ensuring we can record, analyse and understand the reach and impact of our highly-regarded benefits advice service. With strong communication skills and an understanding, empathetic approach, they will provide frontline information and signposting, as well as gathering comprehensive information to streamline referrals to the Welfare and Rights Advisor to ensure people with CF can access sustainable financial support.
This is a busy and rewarding role in a friendly, supportive team, which offers the opportunity to make a real, tangible difference to people affected by cystic fibrosis. The role is 10.5 hours per week, is open to flexible working, and can be home-based or based in our office in Aldgate, London.
